1) What are the "tags" you've mentioned?
2) How do you reformat internal memory, edbro? using Calibre? Because if you do it using Sony, I have no idea how your books located in internal memory could have survived that operation, since it gets literary formatted, deleting all the content.

As this is a serious issue, I'll install calibre and try to reproduce the problems. Have you noticed what sequence of actions is likely to lead to the mentioned problem?
