Did you have a look at the demo of the iPad? If you did, it's pretty obvious that it would make a pretty good reading device, especially for the marginal book types such as magazines, manga, coffe table books and so on.

I'm a woodworker and read the trade magazines. We need the pictures in the how to explanation of procedures and furniture plans. So far there is no portable solution other than tablet computers. Those that exist are big and bulky and frankly, quite fragile and expensive. (the iPad is half those prices)

You seem to have a strong aversion to aPple, enough to blind you with hatred. I feel like it's all the objectivity that will ever come out of your discussion on the aPple subject...
