It fits because new computers that come with Windows come with Vista. Most mobile devices have some sort of Windows software so the device can talk to the computer. Now if you buy some mobile device and it has a program for Windows, you'll want to install it. But if it's not Vista compatible, you won't be able to. The Sony Librie software doesn't seem to work with Vista for example.
