Yes it definitely should have it's own forum. Like it or not, the iPad is here to stay and this is only the first...
I can see that all the iPad excitement can become an irritation to people who aren't interested, so a separate forum can prevent unnecessary irritation.
The iPad may not be a 'dedicated reading device', but future iPad owners who are members here will probably be using it as a reader - amongst other things... since this IS MobileRead after all

As for the iPad and/or Apple haters, they can just go into their 'settings' and 'ignore' the offending forum if they wish. That in turn, will leave the iPad enthusiasts space to drool and discuss and speculate etc. in peace.
