You know what I think the lack of flash is a blessing! None of those stupid ads will show up. Any real site will be making html5 available by the end od this year. Plus so you really want to superheat you iPad? Last I checked running flash likes to steal lots of CPU cycles.
More to the point though the iPhone has has 'multitasking' for ages it's called push notification. I mean how often do you not have an app full screen on a netbook? Not to mention did you. Not see now fast that thing screams? I would never want to slow it down with 'multitasking' and flash.
