I think (hope) he's well on the road to recovery now; and I finally got my first decent amount of sleep since Wednesday night.
He's still snoozing on the couch at the moment, and I'm - well, I'm sitting here vegetating.
I'm so sorry you've both had such a difficult time. Your story is making me a little nervous, though. They told me my procedure is a "piece of cake" but I know how things usually work for me and it's not generally the easy way! I'm sure it will all be fine but the waiting is making me crazy.

Two years ago, I heard of the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program, and I decided I really wanted to participate, so for the last two years I have let my hair grow, without any cuts. Now long hair doesn't really flatter me, the ideal length for my round face is a little shorter than shoulder lenght, so it was kind of a big deal.
This morning I was untangling my excessively long hair (middle back lenght, such a hassle for me) and I thought that was it, I couldn't stand it any longer. I tied my hair like they say on the Pantene site, with two elastics, and Bf asked if he could cut the pony tail. Told him no probs, just follow the top elastic.

He started cutting.

I felt the scisors moving vertically when they are suppose to go horizontally.

Shriek of horror.

Screams.

Apologies ."I didn't realize I was going up, I don't know what happened" he said. I explained roughly that I don't kow why, but that happens when you cut a lot of hair in a bunch, which is why you need to be careful.

Five minutes later I was on my way to find a salon. First one I found was closed, at in the second one I asked for an appointment really really quickly. The little lady offered Monday, so I asked, with a really pityful look, if she could take me today. She answered that they were closing, and asked what was the rush, so I told her that my bf just cut my hair.

New shrieks of horror.

She grabbed me and sat me on a chair with exclamations of "Poor little girl!" and "How could he!", and lots of giggles too, and made something decent out of my hair... kind of a really short bob, 1 cm longer then ear length (waaay too short). I don't like bobs, but she was so nice that I considered it nicer to just shut up and smile.

Hence now, I'm giggling and playing with my hair.
I HATE getting my hair cut and would actually rather go to the dentist than get my hair cut. I suck it up and go ever 4 to 8 weeks, but it's a trial. Even when you tell them, "I only want a tiny trim, take off a 1/2 inch," they ALWAYS take more. I've started skipping a month every once in a while so that my hair will stay the length I like.

The worst thing I've ever done with my hair is asking my mom's hair stylist to cut my hair in a Dorothy Hamill (a popular figure skater) wedge, a hair style that only works if you have straight hair and I definitely don't. Of course, I was ten at the time but it still brings back terrible memories!

right now I am kitten shopping. I've no doubt my precious little one is gone. I've heard the coyotes right up close to the house every night.

I've never paid for a cat before other than adoption fees. this is definetly a first, but I think well worth it. I'm going to make absolutely certain that night time wandering does not happen AT ALL EVER!!!! but even so, I think a 40 pound cat will make a coyote re-evaluate its dining choices
Best of luck with the new family member!! Post some pics when you bring it home!!
