Is the scratch so bad that you can't use the Kindle? You can just use a cover and forget the scratch exists.

I looked at the Portatronics website an dthey have a lot of Kindle 1 and Kindle 2 parts but not the metal back.

If it's driving you crazy, you should contact Amazon and see if they can help you.
