Of course the fact is, it IS NOT like reading a book on your computer. That is unless your computer screen is IPS and LED backlit. So in reality it is different. The vast majority of Computer screens are cheap, florescent backlit and therefore have the flashing going on that leads to eyestrain. The iPad screen has added clarity, no flashing and greatly improved viewing angles.
Of course it is in the best interest of dedicated reader manufactures to push the idea (incorrectly) that it is just a computer screen.
