When I bought my iMac at Best Buy I'm pretty sure he told me I could bring it back within 14 days if I wanted to pay a 15% restocking fee.
I'm not sure if the Apple store has a restocking fee.
I just checked the Apple store policy online, there is a 10% restocking fee.
So, try and iPad for 14 days and if you don't like it get 90% of your money back.
Or, try a Kindle for 30 days, and if you don't like it, spend $5 to send it back USPS and get 100% refund. (This is why people will buy a Kindle without having tried one first.)
