iPad surely is a great gadget, but a different niche.
I've tested a tablet PC (with outdoor display) 3 years ago.
Phantastic, but not very useful. For 1500 Euros, functionality simply was too limited, compated to standard laptops.
But now, for $ 500 to $ 800, it's a different situation.
Still very limited capabilities. But for this price range, just surfing the web and sometimes checking a PowerPoint presentation is okay.
