Interesting. I position it in a such way, about 90 degrees to the reader so that I don't have any shiny places at all. That's why I like it so much, no glaring.

If the batteries are fresh the light is even. Sure it is not at bright as at the nearest point to verilux but it is bright enough to consider it even. There is no huge differences like I had with sony prslight, when you position it besides the reader so you don't get glare then the furthest corners are so deem that it hurts my eyes.

Though it is heavier than any light that works with tablet batteries. It is probably heavier on its own and 2AA contribute as well (it is not a problem for me because I am used to reading hardback editions and the reader+verilux is much lighter anyway) but I agree it might be a problem.
