I'm trying to edit metadata for books already downloaded onto the Kindle 2, but Calibre won't let me - the metadata button is grayed out when switched to the device view.

Is there a reason that Calibre won't let users edit the metadata for books after being transferred to the Kindle 2? Is this a bug?
