Yes, very well pointed out. A lot of single-issue sites masquerade as being open to objective scientific discussion, but tend to avoid or shout down any serious debate on opinions that don't follow their agenda(s).

And considering the complex nature of the climate change issues, and the potential impact across scientific and cutlural boundaries, the broader coverage sites make more sense. Not ignoring the appropriate specialists in the cimate field, of course...
