I use the task manager that comes with the WR-Tools ResInfo application to kill MS Reader when I need to close it. Clunky, but likely a bit easier than having to reset the device.
ResInfo is a freeware, and a good tool. You can find it
here, as well as at many other WinCE freeware sites.
