Oddly enough, though I can confirm that my newly arrived Kindle DX Global is indeed working wirelessly here in Canada (store & Wikipedia), so it must be using GSM properly (unless it's using the old Bell CDMA network?), when I type "611" in the Settings page to bring up the live info, it shows down at the bottom it is using "WCDMA".
