@mr sharpe: as for the online connection, my friend who has a kindle is able to download books over whispernet. i mean, i kind of do my research well anyway and if it so happens that it didn't work, i'd go for the sony readers. plus i love the idea that i'd have free wikipedia access anywhere
@mr harry: it's great that you like our culture. it's been said that only filipinos can smile in calamities, even if they lost everything. the recent major flood was a great example: people who have lost their homes, even their loved ones amassed on the streets to help neighbors and other countrymen. although i believe that's the very problem plaguing our country. filipinos are always happy (and feeling lucky) that we've become complacent as a nation. lots of developmental approaches that have worked well with the african nations aren't really taking off locally. might i ask what industry/field you're engaged in?
