To the LEFT of the tag list inside the Tag Editor is a Button that will delete tags (and all their current usage entries in Calibre) for any tag highlighted in the Left (available tags) list.
Note: that deleting the Tag, does not delete the Tag that has been embedded in existing Meta-data files.
