Not exactly a major revelation, is it? Apple does not do discounting, it's a fundamental part of their corporate philosophy. Even their 'Black Friday' sales are miserly, with cuts of well under 10% for a single day.

Apple would only ever get into the ebook business on an agency model. This is hardly 'working out an agreement', it's the only offer on the table.
