I don't think that is really the point most are trying to make. Although many, sadly, abound in what you said.
What most are happy about is the newness aPple brings. They're looking for the impact that new device will make. Ex:The iPod, the tOuch (
) and looking back further back, the introduction of a mouse driven GUI. Although they did not invent most hardware they found ways to implement them and bring them to the masses. All with decent design and functionality; the word "decent" being debatable.
For my part, the anticipation is killing me. I just can't wait to get my hands on it because I've been dreaming of such a device for eons. Maybe it's all that Star Trek subliminal programming.
