Even though I live less than a mile from the ocean (and even closer to the Los Angeles River), our problem was that the rain was coming down faster than the drains could handle and the water just backed up. It's been raining since Monday so the ground is saturated and can't hold any more water.
I just heard the sun will be back on Sunday (kind of appropriate don't ya think
).
