Well then, we agree: it's just not right.
If the correct procedure needs to be followed then Adobe needs to instruct users on what the correct procedure really is. As you've said, Phone Support should tell them what to do.
I do appreciate the help you're giving these people. It's not your job and you're still doing it. That goes a long way in my book.
