I'm exploring it very much from the point of view of the people left behind - wives left to run farms when married men were conscripted; families with sons and brothers at the Front, waiting and worrying from letter to letter, dreading a telegram. And the aftermath - the men who did come home, but came home broken in body or spirit. New Zealand had one of the highest casualty rates of any combatant nation.
