Simply because colour is used. Not for images, but functional colours. One of those books is the "Neverending Story" by Michael Ende. This book is written with two colours. Blue for the "real" world, red for the "Fantasia" world. I scanned this book some time ago and wanted to see how it looked on my Mini. It turns out, it's almost impossible to read due to lack of contrast (the red is almost impossible to see...).

So, statements like that: "one is better than the other" will always bring out defensive reactions. Correct would be "I find the one better than the other", or "The one is a lot of times better than the other (but not always)". More people would agree and less defensive reactions will be given.

So, a tablet (no matter who makes it) might be the best ereading device for one while another will think it's the worst.
Very good comments.
I usually read paperback scifi, so eink is plenty for me. I was guilty of assumption there...

I also have a lot of coffe table books that need a reader too, maybe a tablet with Touch zooming would do wonders there, just imagine the size of a document for high-rez pictures. Question is will that tablet have high capacity storage? An iPod Touch is clearly lacking that at this point.
