I am not sure that the first picture could be classed a formatting error. Did you try a smaller font size? It looks as if the font was too big so that indented lines had to run over and then line up under the indent again. That is standard formatting in a line of poetry is too long for the typeface. It IS a formatting error if you choose a smaller font size and the lines still look like that.
