It's not the most subtle book out there - it feels like the author is really hammering his points home with a sledgehammer (whilst trying to disguise this with a slightly cutesy, jokey writing style which I find alternatively easy to read and incredibly annoying). It's also a bit on the repetitive side (he especially seems to have a thing for pointing out that some writers write ironically). Plus, if you've been reading fiction for any length of time, it's unlikely to give you any new insights.

As an adult reader who's read fiction all her life, I suspect I may not be part of the target audience, though
