O.K.
I think the concensus is that the PRS-600 has a screen far less readable than the earlier models? Whether it is glare, reflection or whatever, the device is lacking. It is a retrograde step to produce an electronic book that is less legible than the previous models. It has nothing to do with psychology - it is deficient, it is a deceptive product in that it was advertised as an improvement on the previous models and infact it has reduced capabilities in its main requirement - readability. Script cannot be read when there is bright light playing onto the screen, but can on earlier models.
Those having bought one but want an Ebook reader that does its job, have not only the problem of the financial waste, they have to take a step back in technology - discard the sleeker more modern model and carry what is now an older version. How many of you would like to be seen with the old brick-sized mobile phone....? I can't recall a recent similar instance of this in technology.
I remain amazed at the tolerance of people, being willing to tilt and squint or convince themselves it is their brain leading them to concentrate on the distortion rather than the image... and at Sony for producing it.
I have contacted a company who manufacture matted film screen protectors, maybe they can help. If so I will revert...
