your post nicely illustrates what I meant. Where in earth would you get an answer in an introduction forum ... except for mobileread?
The many very intelligent discussions here and links to various sites about how to remove DRM-protected ebooks helped my transition from Palm to Treo to Windows Mobile and currently iPhone. Without this help many ebooks would be stuck with a proprietary reader of a company long out of business. Or - more simple - I would not be able to read them (with the proprietary reader on an outdated machine) since the CC# used for buying them has long since changed and I haven't kept track of the many changes.
mobileread is indispensable and, compared to so many other sites, the discussions here are civilized, which I enjoy. (Yes, agreed, my avatar is exactly the opposite of civilized...)
