Well, yvan, I agree with you... as long as you count fusion as a kind of solar.

Actually, BBC News had some interesting updates about fusion power in the last week or so. I know it's been "only ten years away" for about 50 years now, but things are looking a bit more promising.

That global dimming stuff is just adding another layer of complexity to the whole system, isn't it? Maybe they'll get the models right in another 50 years, but by then we'll be in pretty deep trouble (and out of oil, most likely). Though I have to say, even the current models are accurate enough to make me worried. When a trend line is that steep, it can be off by a few degrees and still present a pretty serious concern.
