Very true but on my last flight to Cincinnati in October, I asked the flight attendant if I had to turn off my reader for take off and she told me, "No", so I happily read my ebook throughout take off and landing. This time, they specifically brought up the Kindle and said it and others like it had to be turned off. I was flying the same airline (United) both times. It's my feeling that someone somewhere decided to be more specific in their rules.
