Hooray for global warming! I'm glad all of us seem to be thawing. It's 29 degrees this morning and supposed to go to 45. Then the rest of the week is supposed to be warmer every day, predicting nearly 60 for the second half of the week.

We were able to turn off all of the dripping faucets finally. Down here, we aren't prepared for cold weather. The rule to avoid busted pipes everywhere is to turn on the faucets enough to drip and keep the water flowing. And leave the cabinets under the sinks ppen, so that the pipes stay at room temps. So during this long cold spell, it's been drip drip drip all night and all day.

YAY! The little lost hummingbird that is spending the winter in a nice warm pile of dead weeds behind the gas meter survived the cold! It flies up against the warm window and seems to like it. We would let it inside, but it is wild and skittish, so when we touch the window, it buzzes away. Seems to be doing OK, except Tim needs to be sure the food liquid isn't frozen.
