It's OK to choose Amazon and your wallet but you must be also willing to accept that when Amazon makes publishing unprofitable for anyone but Amazon, there is the risk of no competition, suddenly higher prices, and even lower quality than currently exists. Sometimes the best choice is not the least-expensive-to-me choice and sometimes it is.
