I only do it because I have to or else be disposessed  My friends spend an estimated 10% of their time not working but to tinkering with their machines instead. I have only had the mentioned 2 hours of repair time in the last 6.5 years, distributed over 3 Apple laptops.

I've had my previous computer for about 5 years. I did not have toolbars and viruii and other assorted problems with it. My mother has had her laptop even longer and she's not had any of those sorts of problems. I do spend time tinkering with my system. But that's me. I don't tinker because I have to fix things.
