I'm with you on that. I was hoping to be able to do true markups on the device.

Saw some dated You Tube videos on the QUE and I kept wondering why the demonstrator was using a finger and "palette" for annotations (arrows, stars, flags) and not using a stylus for handwritten notes. The interviewer asked about the use of a stylus and the demonstator had a "deer in headlights" look, like "why would you want that"? She mentioned something to the effect that "we've determined the average business user uses a small set of common annotations and we've provided those" (palette of arrows, stars, circles, flags, etc.).

If it had handwritten notes capability I think I may have taken the plunge ($650) and canceled my order for the PRS-900 despite the shortcomings of the Que that have been mentioned here.
