Weeeeellll... (This sub-thread is SO off-topic! ) capital punishment *IS* a crime preventer. (Unless you can show proof that an *executed* criminal has managed to plan and commit a crime *after* sentence has been carried out? Didn't think so! )

IOW, there is a 0% recidivism amongst executed criminals.
