You don't get away with that. What statistics? I never saw a single statistic that suggested the USA has a lower homicide rate than the UK.
And how exactly do you measure 'crimes prevented' that proves the existence of a firearm did the preventing. My guess would be I could find equally convincing arguments crimes are prevented by the existence of a fish.
