This looks highly promising. I feared it was going to weigh in closer to $1000, which would probably have put it out of my price range. Having a non 3G option is great - one of the things I learned from the Kindle (but knew in advance, really) is that I absolutely do not care about wireless connectivity, especially if it's only going to work and be free in one country anyway!
Looking at the comments over on engadget, there's a massive amount of ignorance. Lots of people seem unable to conceive the need for a device like this. I'm looking at the huge pile of paper currently cluttering my desk and filling my bag...and thinking "roll on April!"
