I doubt they're actively designing commercial software for ebook readers themselves...their demo is just a demo to show the speed of the display and doesn't necessarily bear any similarity to what real products will use.

I'd hope that any software developer who decides to add what they think is a sexy page-turn transition will offer options to turn it off. That's just a personal hope, though.
