but like the creations of all superb craftspeople, I couldn't then afford to pay for it.  Also, there's not much point in me looking at DIY ideas and then GSETDI (Getting Someone Else To Do It). It looks like something for me down the track though.
Incidentally, at the markets the other day I saw these jewellery boxes made out of Australian timber called purple gidgee. They were yellowish (outer wood) and, of course, purple (heartwood). Quite nice, and intriguing design. Naturally, I thought of you.

That guy makes excellent work. I could do the woodwork but the hardware part intimidates me a little.
Purple wood is photosensible and becomes chocolate brown in less than 6 months.
