In all seriousness, I come from a working community whereby people of all nationalities, religions, personal beliefs, have been encouraged to mix and trade for centuries.

This has not been successful for this long due to strict guidelines and codes of behaviour, but rather respect for other peoples opinion. Our success has been down to toleration and I am yet to come across any group of people in the world that I have ever had a large problem communicating with.

Even this is now being eroded under ever more draconian policies, which is creating an air of suspicion before anyone has actually met. Our security and safety always relied upon each and everyone of us looking out for each other and I have yet to see anything that contradicts that ethos.

My working community...............the Merchant Marine, we have worked alongside each other, eaten together, partied together, lived together and generally trusted each other, since ships first sailed the oceans. I feel priviliged to still be a part of a community that most governments take great lengths to tell us doesn't work.
