That doesn't mean they weren't noticed. Every little bit helps.

Most authors have little to no control over the timing or format of the ebook editions of their books. (Or the paper editions, for that matter.) And even if an author hates DRM, that doesn't mean they can do anything about it. It's controlled somewhat by the publisher, and definitely by the retailers. My publishers hate DRM, but Amazon and Sony require it.
