I have two Amazon accounts, one with a US residential address and one with a UK one. I've credited gift certificates to the US account so that it has a gift card balance to use for "One-Click" purposes.

I can then happily register and deregister my Kindle between the two accounts, depending on whether the book I want to buy is a) cheaper and b) available in each country.

When I deregister the Kindle from my UK or US account all the details of the ebooks I've bought disappear (cue panicking). However, when I reregister the Kindle on my UK or US account, the respective ebooks magically appear again. As the two accounts aren't linked (not sure if you can, doubt it) the ebooks I've bought on my US account don't appear on my UK account and vice versa.
