In all seriousness, though, I believe you're on to something. Benjamin Libet's famous experiments as well as experiments with split-brain patients seem to imply that unconscious neuronal activity precedes conscious knowledge and choice. This appears to be counter-intuitive, but as Carl Sagan said in
Cosmos (the TV Series): "Nature is not obligated to conform to our expectations."
