Many libraries in my country - using databases - have re-remade indexes using multi-category (because classification based only on one subject is quite fuzzy) along with full text search ( in metadata).
we must not forget that tags (or multicategory) are a mere tool - isn't good or evil itself - thus can be used wisely (few and well thought tags) or abusing it (tag sprawl).
ok it's a matter of personal taste but for me I can say that with >200 books a folder nav doesn't work as I want.
Also tags and a hierarchy folder nav can be implemented in the same system and this provide a quite useful tool ( this is the way most content management software -ECM - is built around ).
