Timing is Everything

So, a little science:

I have occasionally noticed a glitch or hang-up in paging on the jetBook. So, armed with a bit of finger endurance, a stopwatch, and a bunch of books, here's my conclusion:

1) It takes 0.70-0.97 sec. for the jetBook to respond to a page advace request. Averaging over runs of 3 to eliminate human variability, 0.78-0.87.
2) It takes 3.15-4.90 sec. to page through a full indicated page (X/Y to X+1/Y). Again, averaging over runs of 3, 3.52-4.50.
3) Two pages (the size of my runs to get better data) takes 9-11 button presses.
4) There appears to be very little impact of ebook format. I tried txt, rtf, epub, and mobi. The times were very similar. A larger sample might determine if the small differences I saw are significant.
5) Books in device memory might be a tiny bit faster than those on an ancient SD card, but again, a larger sample would be needed to say for sure.
6) The two of 21 runs that took over 0.9 sec. to page on were not obviously correlated. It may be the processor was off doing something else for a moment.

My conclusion? Yes, you will occasionally notice a hang-up. Is it significant or meaningful in any way? No.
