, and I think I'm going to like this a lot... you are right, - the "flashy" page-turn thing is fading to a flicker in my consciousness already.
Am still unable to install the Sony software -like many others, but Calibre is doing the job anyway.
Again, thanks for your help, and here's hoping for a happy and peaceful year in your parts of the world, which all sound lovely, btw. Not like the currently very chilly English North East, although we do have our places where it's so beautiful you forget the cold, - (as long as you're well wrapped up!)
