BTW, maybe this question is in the wrong place, but does anyone know if you remove the sd cards while the reader is on or off? I put it in while it was on and it seemed happy, but then I went out today and bought a sinful amount of memory on a new card and I'm wondering if I need to take the old one out while the jetbook is off or on?

I'm usually remove and insert my SD cards with ebooks when jetBook is ON.
jetBook remove or add folders from my SD card very quickly.
I do the same for both jetBook and jetBook-Lite.
