Now I see what you mean.
I think it is not very "coherent". If you agree with me that:
- the feature will give much more added value if allows the user to configure how to organize its e-book collection in the most flexible way, not only in "calibre" way (which by itself its quite reasonable).
I didn't understood it well because I use an open source program for MP3 management called MusicBrainz Picard, which is the most comprehensive tool and it is a sort of "musical Calibre": it allows to "convert", associate with external metadata (covers, etc..) and to organize your collection. In fact, is very simillar in concept.
And MusicBrain not only allows that kind of configuration but also has functions to format the output organization on disk.
If you think it could be a useful feature I wiil elaborate on it in a ticket.
