It does sound very similar to our problem inasmuch as you bought books before installing the ereader and then had the problem with transferring them afterwards. However we didn't have to authorise the ereader at the Sony store since we can't use the Sony store in the UK for copyright reasons. We therefore only had to authorise the computer in ADE and get ADE to recognise the Ereader. From what Jim said our problem seemed to arise because she had not authorised her laptop in ADE until after installing the Sony software by which time Sony had set up a separate Adobe ID
After our little problem I delivered myself of a few well chosen words to my daughter on the topic of not just ignoring warning dialogues but she assured me in genuinely aggrieved tones that she has only ever used the same email address and password so it should be the same Adobe ID.
Does anyone know if it is possible that Sony could set up a separate Adobe ID with the same email address and password if you have not previously authorised your computer to ADE? If that did happen I could understand that she would have thought it was OK to ignore the warning screen because she would have thought it was the same Adobe ID. I'm not convinced I believe her but if so, it must be a disaster waiting to happen
