In Texas, brisket (NOT corned beef!!!) is available in every supermarket meat department, and usually at a fairly decent price. Here in IL, you have to ask for it, and then they want to charge you six dollars a pound! (No, I'm not exaggerating). This Texas girl misses her brisket something awful. I've only had it twice in the last five years that I've been here, thanks to a kind customer that has a Texas wife and took pity on me and brought me some the last two times he's fixed it.

I paid $13 for mine (at a restaurant), which I was extremely happy with since it was a giant portion, and included onion straws and some BBQ sauce. I'd fedex you my leftovers, but I'm having them for lunch tomorrow
