Yes I am a big fan of FBReader, just got it all set up nicely with the font I like best so far (Andika Basic, TTF from my Win PC) and is such a comfortable read with my .epub files.

I like to look at the status bar periodically to get an idea for where I am in the book - ie how much more I have to read. But otherwise I like to press a button and have it hidden away so I can focus just on the text itself.

In case anyone else wants to know, hiding the status bar can be done via:

Menu | Settings | Key Mapping | Appearance | Hide Panel

Assign this to a button and when in FBReader use it to show/hide the status bar at will.
